Trivquiz: The Prince of Darkness and The Lord of Boleskine House.
Christopher Lee starred in numerous horror movies ... Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page was fascinated by the occult. There's a spooky link ...
Christopher Lee starred in two movies based on books by Dennis Wheatley – “The Devil Rides Out” and “To the Devil a Daughter.” In research for his black magic novels, Wheatley met with a number of experts, including a priest who had studied witches, werewolves and vampires extensively, an Egyptian with a deep knowledge of voodoo … and the occultist Aleister Crowley, a man dubbed “The Beast” and described as “the wickedest man alive.” Crowley had once resided in Boleskine House, a manor on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland, and had spoken of the black magic rituals he had conducted there.
Fascinated by all things occult and a collector of Crowley memorabilia, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page bought Boleskin House in 1970. Page’s fantasy sequence in the 1976 Led Zeppelin concert film “The Song Remains the Same” was shot in the grounds of Boleskine House.
